About the Project
Visionary Changemakers began as a campaign to inspire young people in Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis to take an active role in local decision-making and democratic life. The initiative empowers youth to become leaders and changemakers — because this is where real change begins.
The project focused on three key goals:
Inspire & Educate
Through workshops led by experts, young people learned about local political structures, decision-making processes, and real-world examples of youth-led change.
Build Connections
We strengthened partnerships between youth, municipalities, and regional leaders — supported directly by the district administration — to ensure young voices are heard in local governance.
Sustain Engagement
By organizing follow-up events and school-based activities, we encouraged ongoing, bottom-up participation and inspired future initiatives driven by young people themselves.
The project launched with an event bringing together youth, youth workers, and decision-makers to exchange ideas, learn about democratic participation, and co-create proposals for local action.
Through Visionary Changemakers, we aim to strengthen youth participation in political and civic life — especially in rural communities — by building bridges between young citizens and local authorities, and by fostering a culture of active, informed, and inclusive leadership.
