About the Project

No Label is a 24-month Erasmus+ initiative that brings together six civil society organizations from The Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, North Macedonia, and Germany. The project empowers young people (18–30 years old), especially from vulnerable backgrounds, to lead more sustainable lives and become conscious consumers.

Aligned with the EU’s Green Deal and Youth Strategy (2019–2027), No Label strengthens youth participation, fosters transnational cooperation, and addresses systemic gaps in youth worker support and CSO collaboration—issues made more visible during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Why It Matters

Fashion plays a powerful role in self-expression and identity for youth. Yet the industry has massive environmental and social consequences:

Environmental Impact

  • 8–10% of global CO₂ emissions
  • 20% of global freshwater pollution
  • Large-scale microplastic pollution from textile laundering

Fast Fashion Consequences

  • Promotes cheap, disposable clothing
  • Exploits workers in unsafe conditions
  • 85% of clothing ends up in landfills—often unworn
  • Contributes to environmental crises in countries like Ghana and Chile

Fashion is not only a cultural force—it is also a key opportunity to promote ethical consumerism, environmental justice, and the circular economy.
